Japanese Cedar (Sugi) Slab Coffee Table With Seashell Inlay (1.69 Metres Length)
You've never seen a coffee table quite like this one! Two strips of inlay 2 centimetres deep by 5 centimetres wide (0.79" deep by 1.97" wide) with seashells run parallel along the entire 5 centimetres thick (1.97") slab of 1.69 metres (5.54') length. The organic, curved, natural edges create a width between 33.5 - 43.5 centimetres (13.19" - 17.12"). The seashells are whole Pacifico Calico Scallop halves alternating with Pismo Clam fragments, found from beach combing in San Diego County in California.
The wood is Japanese Cedar (also known as Sugi or Japanese Redwood) and features naturally curved edges along its length, giving the table different widths at different points; see additional info below for maximum and minimum widths. The top of the table sits at a height of 54 centimetres (21.26"). The grain and shimmering chatoyance or heightened by the ultra smooth finish and multiple layers of polyurethane. The feet are redwood at a height of 50.4 centimetres high by 10 centimetres wide and 20 centimetres long (19.84" high by 3.94" wide by 7.84" long) and are attached to the underside of the slab with six angle brackets each held into insert nuts with M6 bolts (which can be detached from the slab and reattached for shipping and transport).
This is the perfect choice for the connoisseur who loves natural materials and rustic, Bohemian style furniture.
